Player Ratings: West Ham v Forest

|

Fabianski:6 Forced to tip the ball over the bar after 13 mins. Took a nasty knock to the head and looked incredibly groggy. Why it took so long to come to the conclusion that he should be replaced is anyone’s guess.

Coufal:7 First half saw Coufal’s best attacking display this season. Replaced at half time.

Ogbonna:8 Untroubled during the first half as West Ham dominated. Impressive performance with some towering headers.

Aguerd:8 Played on the right side of a central defensive pairing. Vital interception at the beginning of the second half. Has the passing range of a midfielder.

Johnson:7 Handled the impressive Brenan Johnson incredibly well. Switched flanks and firmed up the opposite flank.

Rice:9 More of a defensive role in this game as Soucek & Paqueta were given licence to roam. Displayed poise and skill to orchestrate the Hammers opener.  Caressed a delicious curling shot into the top corner for West Ham’s third.

Soucek:7 Tried to support the attack early in the game. Always battling and covered a lot of ground.

Paqueta:8 Immediately involved and in advanced positions. Had everyone worried when he went down clutching his shoulder again. Audacious flick created momentum as West Ham got a foothold in the second half. Another flick and dribble helped create Ings second goal.

Bowen:8 Opening corners proved awkward for the Forest keeper. Very lively and never gave his marker a moment’s rest. Hit the post with a rapacious right foot shot. Created the opening goal for Ings with a jinky incisive run and cross.

Benrahma:8 Linked well with Paqueta at times but sometimes hesitant when a driving run or pass was required. Wonderful run and pull-back for Ings second goal.

Ings:10 Early chance following good anticipation from Bowen then prompted a goalmouth scramble with an instinctive cross, Missed a great chance from 6 yards following a good Coufal cross. Stayed onside to finish well from a driving Bowen run. Scored again moments later following good work from Benrahma and Paqueta.

Cresswell:6 On for Coufal at half-time in a move which saw Ben Johnson move to right back. Made an immediate error and to be bailed out by Rice. Got better as the game progressed.

Areola:6 On for the injured Fabianski after 70 mins.

Lanzini: Triple substitution on the 83rd min saw Lanzini replace Paqueta.

Antonio: Replaced Ings and scored instantly.

Fornals: 83rd min sub for Benrahma. Immediately set-up goal number 4 for Antonio.
