Irons locked in talks on Forest winger

|

antonioWest Ham are continuing to negotiate with Nottingham Forest for exciting winger Michail Antonio.

Word from the Boleyn within the last few minutes is that negotiations are continuing despite the Nottingham Evening Post claiming the deal had been done at £7 million.

ClaretandHugh was immediately told exclusively on publication of that story by a top Irons source: “Sadly that isn’t the case but we’d like to think we are close and we are still negotiating.”

The Evening Post reported that the player was  expected in the capital for talks today, with a view to completing a move to the Premier League side.

The potential transfer does not include a loan deal for winger Matt Jarvis, who is not thought to have been keen on a move to the Midlands.

Forest had previously rejected bids of £4m from West Brom and Derby for the player – and a previous £5m bid from the Hammers.

It is not clear at this stage where a deal for 25 year old Wandsworth born Antonio would leave the Victor Moses talks which are continuing.

FFS, Antonio is unproven at premier league level, what are you at. Moses all day long followed by that Danish lad. I have seen this guy play, crazy stuff going on, I am wondering who is making tis up. Moses deal cannot be put in jeopardy. Forget tis qukly before you end up losing out on Moses. Typical Wes Ham fill us with hope of Moses and then us down.

Unless we are signing Moses, Song and Antonio instead of Jelavic then I would be happy. I just don’t want us to lose out on Moses. I think this guy with his power could play upfront which then would make it a great signing.

Hi guys, fist time poster but had to comment on this.Im 100% Irons supporter but was working up in the Midlands for 8months last year. Most the guys i worked with were Forest fans so went to 8 of their home matches last season when i couldnt get back down to ours in time because of work.Antonio was sh#t hot for them, honestly,im talking good.Anyway just my opinion having watched him more than most maybe.I think he could really do us a good turn.Sorry Johnham 1,just sayin’.

good to hear a qualified opinion. He looks very powerful and strong and so could be used up front or on either wing. A bit pricey though … unless he justifies it of course lol

Agree Ed, good winger with goals in him

I heard from Forest fans claiming he’s better than Bolasie.

I’d prefer him on a Permanent than Moses on loan.

Let’s all be happy if we get either, you know I have been pushing for Moses but Jarvis has done better under Slav and he does not want to leave so that would give us width if we change are playing style,
Jelavic will be good cover for Sakho and Carroll,
Payer,Zarate,Lanzini,Callum and Samulsun give us great options and with Valencia coming back in the new year,
Song,Obiang, kouyate and Noble give us great midfield defence
The defence is coming togeather and with Tomks stepping up
    What a great looking squad

@Johnham1 Cresswell was unproven at Premier League level, Sakho unproven at even Ligue 1 level…

Could work out more sensible than a pricey Moses loan deal if he performs. Pione Sisto does look handy too. Jelavic is terrible these days but there we go. Maybe he wasn’t getting the service at Hull.
