Arsenal v West Ham Preview

|

Arsenal have Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Serge Gnabry, Abou Diaby, Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Theo Walcott all out either through injury or suspension, and in addition, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tomas Rosicky, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal are all injury doubts for the game.

Kevin Nolan is a major doubt for West Ham after picking up a hamstring injury in the Liverpool game.

When the Gunners injuries are combined with the 120 minutes extra time they spend beating Wigan 3 days ago compared to our 9 days of rest, West Ham must have a chance of reaching the 40-point mark with an away victory. However history is very much against us. West Ham have taken the lead each of the last three times they’ve played Arsenal but lost all three matches. Arsenal are unbeaten in the  twelve games against West Ham, a record going back to April 2007.

In yesterday’s press conference Sam conceded for the first we would not finish in the top ten. “I don’t think that we’ll get a top 10 finish now,” Allardyce told reporters “I think the best we would try and get is to catch up with Stoke.”

Kick off is at 7.45pm following a period of silence to mark the 25th Anniversary of Hillsborough
