Noble tells club to control expectations

|

Mark Noble has made it clear the club has to manage carefully the growing expectations among the fans as the players continue to ride the crest of a wave.

Already thoughts are turning firmly to Europe as the club maintain sixth position with matches against top placed sides still to come.

Noble understands the current excitement but says: “Of course we need to control it.

“That’s what’s going to happen if you keep winning games. We’re sixth in the table, it’s our highest league position ever at this stage.

“We were unbeaten over Christmas. And even if those games did include five draws, they are still draws.

“Now we have come out of the other side, we have players back and we are winning games again.”

I would say that the players should be the ones managing their expectations, they should instead get used to feeling like they are the better team and imposing themselves on their opponents, unlike the way they are starting against the lesser teams, as Slav keeps telling them, play with confidence, he knows to be a winner you have to think like one and that involves being ruthless with teams you can dominate as all the champions are.
