Noble: ‘Angelo saved us agonies’

|

Angelo Ogbonna scored his first goal for the Hammers to become the unlikeliest hero and it was Dimi Payet who put it onto his head form a last second free kick.

And that’s exactly why the Hammers will sort out Payet’s new deal because although he was again quiet for the 120 minutes by his standards he can change a game at a stroke as he did tonight and save us all the agony of penalties.

And afterwards it was Ogbonna who struggled through the language barrier to say: ” I am very happy -it was unbelievable. I did it for my team. I am so happy.”

Skipper Mark Noble declared: “This is the FA Cup and make no mistake that was a very good Liverpool team but then Angelo pops up with a great header to settle it at the very end. It was a wonderful ball in from Dimi.

“We come out here with these fans and we believe we can beat anybody. We are so happy. You couldn’t write that. Tonight we beat a very good team and thankfully Angelo save us the agonies of those penalties.”
