Fans want James Tomkins to stay

|

tomkinsAn over whelming 82% of West Ham supporters want James Tomkins to stay at West Ham. The 27-year-old defender joined the West Ham academy in 1997 aged seven after he was spotted playing for his local Sunday league side. He started life as a striker before switching to defence signing his scholarship forms in 2005.

Tomkins made his Premier League debut on 22nd March 2008 in a 1–1 draw away to Everton.

Tomkins days in a West Ham shirt looked numbered  and he has been told the club will not stand in his way if wants to leave.

The club’s own insider column on WHUFC.com  last week seemed to actively hint Tomkins is unhappy or that he is considered a fringe player in Bilic’s eyes and free to leave the Hammers this summer.

Our poll of 1,076 supporters yesterday show 880 (81.78%) want the Academy graduate to stay a Hammer, 155 (14.41%) are happy to take £10m or more and say goodbye while the remaining 41 (3.81%) don’t know.

Today we ask the same question about Pedro Obiang who has also been tipped for a West Ham exit.

absolutely pointless to sell him unless he begs to go. A very good center-back just coming into his prime who knows the prem like the back of his hand. Just what e need.

Makes more sense to sell Ginge and Reid if we can find the replacements, and they must be up grades but Tomo can cover the right side which the others can not,
But some times you have to let our home grown players leave to grow as a club,

much as i love Ginge, how much longer can he play at this level? Makes more sense to keep Tonks, as long as he wants to stay of course.

    I’m with mooro66 100% on this one…
OR why sell any this season? It would give an extra year for the youngsters to prepare for the 1st team….seems ideal to me!
