Video: Mayhem after Cresswell horror tackle

|

West Ham Captain Mark Noble and Hammer Winston Reid lost their cool after a horror studs up challenge on Aaron Cresswell just nine minutes before full time in a pre season friendly with Karlsruher which they lost 3-0.

The skipper and Reid were incensed and the air turned blue as Nobes and Reidy fronted up the Karlsruher player responsible.

No players were cautioned after the late incident but friendly it was not in the closing stages of the game. Nice bit of passion from Mark and Winston. Let’s just hope Aaron is OK as we have no left back cover if he gets injured.

Former West Ham academy player and good friend of Mark Noble Darren Blewitt tweeted out “Nobes flying in chin first. If there’s one thing I taught him go elbows 1st.can catch the fella and get away with it”  Blewitt added “(They) Obviously stick together, someone should of stuck one on him. The tackle was terrible.

Others on social media disagreed and argued it was a 50/50 challenge and maybe Cresswell shouldn’t have risked it in a friendly.

Reid looked like he was going to destroy that guy, good to see that, squad looking out for each other.

Loved it.! As in, the way Winston got the hump… I like the camaraderie they (we) show I believe that’s important for good moral, you always know your teammate will back you up.!! I wonder if a red card in a friendly gives you a ban, if it doesn’t I don’t know why none of our players didn’t smack the f##king c##t (as I believe Reid called him)
As for a 50/50 challenge, I’m all up for that but not a 2 footed lunge, so stupid pointless comment to he(or she) who remarked about it being 50/50.!
