West Ham’s game changer ignored

|

antonioMichail Antonio was again ignored by Engand manager manager Gareth Southgate as the national team played out an embarrassing goal-less draw against Slovenia last night.

The West Ham winger and top English goal scorer this season has now joined England on three occasions and been ignored each time leaving Irons fans deeply unimpressed.

Ironically it was Andros Townsend – linked with the Irons in the sumer – who was called into action as a second half sub and although he was okay we all know that Antonio is capable of game changing moments.

Sometimes messages take a while to drop as far as our top scorer is concerned but hopefully the England manager will receive it before too much longer.

This was a situation made for a guy who thrives on adversity and few of us have any doubts that he would have made a huge impact had he be given his chance.

Jack Sullivan led the chorus of discontent on the social networks when he declared: “What’s the point in taking @Michailantonio , if you ain’t gunna play him! Play him he will deliver.”

Simply but perfectly put!

Not only the most inform winger in England but also scored more goals than any other. Shocking, boring England same as before. No creativity as usual. I give up!!!!!!

Yep, Andria Townsend did look better than Walcott and if they had started with both him and Antonio they would have had two players on the pitch that wanted to take people on and create, instead they had two players that just wanted to cut inside and narrow the pitch too little effect, also what about Vardy he never gets the chance either, it seems whoever manages England they only play players from the usual suspects which is why we eventually disappoint consistently. Southgate won a tournament with players from a variety of clubs yet now he is straight into the pattern of failure of England bosses past.

The consistent & persistent omission of West Ham players should be a major talking point .
After watching Henderson perform l can’t seriously say Noble doesn’t deserve a chance .
Also after watching a whole load of ineptitude in the striking and heading of the ball I really can’t understand the why’s and therefore’s of ignoring Antonio . Even if Cresswell & Carroll were fit I somehow doubt they would be picked . It seems to me there are two reasons for shunning Our players . 1) We are not a big glamorous club and have don’t a great haul of trophies . 2) The idea that there were Three West Ham players involved in lifting the 1966 World Cup still goes against the grain with lots of people and they don’t like to admit that without them we would never have Won and it looks like we never shall again untill West Ham is recognized .

at least he did not get injured so there is a plus point

The FA pick the England team to keep there sponsors happy! When Antonio appears on a Nivea advert advertising a new super strength moisturiser or is seen munching on a king size marsbar or even knocking some shelves up with nails from screwfix he will play every game until then he’ll be on the bench with Vardy 🙂

So agree with the above comments, They don’t get it, we will not win anything until some Westham players get involved, call it fate but that’s what I believe, my choice once all fit, Carroll-Antonio-Creswell, then we will see some action and players that can play for each other, as one of you said, on the positive side at least they cant get injured playing for the country, but what is going on in Southgates head, same old same old, so boring again.

Oh well i guess i am in the minority but so what.Thats life,he never got on he pitch, move on.
Some of our players don’t even deserve to be in our first team at the moment let alone a national team Lol 😛
