|

skySky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has come under fire after posting a message on twitter defending West Ham owners David Sullivan and David Gold. On Sunday, Solhekol‏ took to social media to post a tweet which could have composed by the owners themselves.

Solhekol posted: “West Ham owners Sullivan & Gold confronted by angry fans at Wigan. Fans want more signings. Senior figures understand frustration but unacceptable for owners to be treated this way.West Ham have 7th highest wage bill in league & close to wage cap limit. Owners doing all they can.”

is it just a rule for west ham the wage cap limit never heard of it being an issue for any other club,in fact it is only Sullivan that talks about it.Perhaps they are Sullivan’s words

  • The funny thing is FFP was watered down when it was renewed. The calculation is less restrictive and West Ham can use the extra revenue from the London Stadium to add on to its wage bill. My understanding is we have some way to go to our wage cap

For sure they have some leeway but the window is not done yet so lets see what if any more transfers we get in and what wages we would likely pay them, we could do worse than copying Spurs performance related bonuses in salary calculations, they don’t seem to have an issue attracting players and keeps them hungry if the higher up the league they finish the greater bonuses they receive, the FAPL itself should make that a mandatory pay model so that clubs don’t get themselves in over their heads.

A level playing field ! Yep ! But manures Chelsea etc would never have it and the FA being politically incorrect on such matters would never , never sanction it as would FIFA
        And euafa !!
It would mean top rich teams could be challenged ! It would be the fair thing to do but its not is it lol!!!😉

So Sanchez on 500,000 a game ? That covers our whole team doesn’t it ! 😉
Simple answer is to get rid of sick note , hart , ayew , fonte , zabba, invest in new players 😂😂😂 who warrant their salary’s and bingo ! Enough of this bullshyte their incapable of putting this club in or about top 4 and champions league as they preached they would ? Who or what does sky know about west ham Apart from some stats that they base most quotes on ? The Muppet clearly hasn’t a clue what he’s talking about !! Add a few boardettes who get most of their facts wrong and you’ve got a debate full of bolloxxx ! Get these muppets out of our club ? They haven’t fulfield their brief , they can’t. Time someone else had the chance ! Enough ffs its never ending ! They’ve failed its fekin simple ? Wednesday ? Tick tock ? Put you’re bull shyte where you’re brains are Sullivan ! Slap us down !! Nows you’re chance !!! Their not all rubbish are they ! The worthwhile ones that is lol!!😎

Zabba has been one of our best players this season Laz and comfortably better than Byram, the others I make you right, if we could find replacements and didn’t have such a huge injury list.

      • Lazurus. rises like a salmon says:

His age and pace is my issue ! He’s made a good few gaffs because of it ! But he’s also shown quality but suspect ! Its why pep let him go ! , young blood is needed , byrum isn’t the answer at present ! Don’t think he will make it under Moyes anyway ! I don’t think cresswell will survive Moyes as well ? If the board don’t let him go for raffa ??

        • Lazurus. rises like a salmon says:

There’s no defence jonnyd for sully ? They have deceived everyone but its now starting to backfire on them ! We can’t do anything about injury’s ! Its a plight we are very unlucky in ! But you can’t defend not having the depth to cover and lessening the squad and not replacing was always going to hurt us !! That’s down to the board ! If we had quality in depth and not relying on inexperiansed youngsters we might have been safe in the league ! But were not ! There is no excuse for why were here in dire straits , last minute dot com is much on the agenda ! If not its going to be hard watching for the next few week or even months
          😉

The figures for 16/17 showed West ham in eighth place on £95m wage bill. This was less than half the wage bill of the top five (5th biggest wage bill Liverpool were at £200m). Compare with everyone else then on total wage bill we compared favorably. The summer saw a purge of fringe players so it is difficult to see that the £95m would have gone up this year.
What we have done (for many years) is to invest in players who are constantly injured or not durable as Moyes would say – Reid, Sakho, Carroll, etc. The club really has failed to look at the age profile or fitness records. Anything received for Sakho or indeed Carroll is a bonus.
The other factor has been the unwillingness to pay transfer fees. To quibble over a world class player like Carvaho in the summer will now cost a fortune in bringing in a championship player at an ludicrous premium. The net spend in the summer was £18m (as calculated by C and H) less the £8m received for Sakho. Over the previous two years it was at about £25m per year. This is simply not enough to elevate the club to the next level and is now coming home to roost.
