Report: Manuel Pellegrini in advanced talks

|

Spanish newspaper Marca claims Manuel Pellegrini is in advanced talks with West Ham intermediaries over the possibility of taking the West Ham job.

The newspaper report boldly claims the Hammers are believed to have an advanced agreement with him, although the paper says Pellegrini would be willing to break it by taking the job at Sevilla. The report says West Ham wanted to hire him back in the winter and have now followed up that initial interest.

No decision will be taken on the West Ham manager’s role until after the season ends tomorrow but if the reports are to be believed Pellegrini is on a shortlist. News of the manager situation is expected 10 days after tomorrow.

Pellegrini reportedly earns €12 million per year in China so it might take an offer of around £10m per year to land the former Manchester City manager.

If he’s gonna cost us 10mil a year, i’d rather have Rafa for 8mil a year. Don’t rate Pellegrini.

Agreed. All that money to spend at City & all I can remember of his time there is him sitting on the bench with a confused look on his face.

Did a fantastic job at Villareal and Malaga. Won the league and city scored a record 151 goals in that season! Him or Rafa please. We will end up sticking with moyes.

    Media , media , media . … A Spanish rag at that ; Marca , renowned Madrid supporters .
If there is a so called “ short list “ then one has to wonder where Moyes is on that list .
Not much point in going for managers that can’t do it with a massive budget as is the case with Pellegrini . Give our Home managers the chance and give them a hand with some serious signings . Just why there is so much speculation surrounding the departure of Moyes is more than just a bit silly in my opinion . West Ham are starting to show they can play good stuff and I see no reason to curtail that progress by ousting Moyes .
Other stuff : Cairney is not what we are looking for ,,, falls way short .

You are kidding me right Kevin, Moyes is not our future. I thank him for kinda steadying the ship but that is it for me. There is better out there we should be selling a vision to and securing, the likes of Julian Tuchel for example. Didn’t Pellegrini win the league with City?

A good manager ? depends on the budget he would receive. This will be the case for whoever manages us next season but I would suggest the board have been thinking long and hard due to this horrible season so must get it right.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

He should give us the passing game we all want, we have some very creative players as some said did a good job in Spain but whether he can make us defensively solid enough who knows, if we get rid of Moyes I would rather him than Rafa.
