Hammers: ‘No further problems after ticket trouble’

|

West Ham have promised there will be no further problems at the turnstiles for season ticket holders this season.

Many fans were issued with paper tickets for the match against Bournemouth after their tickets failed to unlock the turnstiles.

Others were let in through a side door (myself and grandson included ) but this evening we have been assured that there will be no recurrence of the issue.

We were told: “There was a problem for 600. Everybody got a paper ticket who had a problem, last one given at 3.17 pm. It was certainly not ideal and will be resolved by the next game and won’t happen next season.”

The statement that the last ticket was issued at 3.17 is a barefaced lie .My sister couldn’t get into entrance J at 2.30 and was directed to the nearby north ticket office .She reached block 148 where we sit at 3.43 and certainly did not have a ticket at 3.17..

Yes. A total lie. My son’s upgraded season ticket (from under 16 to under 21) never arrived. I called the ticket office on Friday to be told that there “had been an issue” with sending out the upgraded season tickets, but not to worry, it could be picked up at the north ticket office. We arrived at 2.20pm, to be confronted with massive queues. He finally reached the front of the queue at around 2.35pm, to be told that his card wasn’t there, but they could print him a paper ticket. He took his seat around three minutes before half time. There were still many disgruntled fans behind him. This is completely unacceptable and spoiled a day that we had been looking forward to for weeks. The very least the club should do is apologise. To lie and downplay the whole shambolic situation merely adds to the frustration.
