LA Galaxy move in for Iron

|

Exclusive

West Ham have received an offer from LA Galaxy to take Reece Oxford on loan until the end of the season.

Despite stories linking the defender with possible moves to Arsenal and Everton, it is Galaxy of the MLS Western Conference who have contacted the Irons with an offer now under consideration.

There is added interest from the States with FC Dallas also keen along with Eastern Conference outfit Atlanta.

Oxford now appears to have no future whatsoever at the Irons having made it pretty clear he wants out and the club are ready to look at any offer although the Galaxy option may not suit the player.

He may well consider it far too early in his career to consider the States and has already made it clear he is not overly interested in a loan move anyway.

He has been scouted by Man U and Leicester City at under 23 level and the opportunity of pursuing a PL career here would be preferable to him.

The club are ready to sell cheaply but in the meantime a senior source told us by e mail: “Galaxy have made an offer of a loan deal but there are several other American outfits interested.”

I’m pretty sure he would have liked to play for West ham but it looks pretty obvious there’s a certain young Frenchman called Diop in his position so he is going to be forced to play elsewhere if he has any hope of developing a career as a professional footballer at any kind of level. It’s a sad situation but that’s the way it is.
