Arnautovic set for medical prior to weekend departure

|

Marko Arnautovic is close to securing a move to Shanghai SPIG with the West Ham striker set to undergo a medical in London imminently.

The transfer of the 30-year-old Austrian could be completed as early as this weekend should everything go to plan meaning he would not need to fly out to Switzerland on Monday to join up with Manuel Pellegrini and the first team squad.

The deal is thought to be 25 million Euros (£22.5m) with the player signing a three year deal with the Chinese club on wages around £200,000 per week.

The departure of Marko will slash £6m on the annual wage bill as West Ham’s second highest earner. The Hammers will need to pay Stoke City around £500,000 due to a 20% sell on clause on profit made and FIFA will receive £1m as part of a normal  5% solidarity payment.

The net proceeds of £21m will be made available to Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos

Please please let him pass the medical and get shot.

Hopefully they do not test for greediness.
We are so much better off without him he has been a total disruption in the last season

Sweet news for us, but I wonder how long before it becomes sour for the Chinese when little brother decides his client belongs elsewhere?

  • ERIC CONKLIN says:

That doesn’t add up. Didn’t we buy him for 22 million? If so that means the profit is $500,000. 20% of that is not $500,000.

    • We bought him for a little over £20m with £4m of add ons rather than £22m. The 20% clause was based on the transfer fee and not the add-ons so 20% of £2.5m

  • ERIC CONKLIN says:

That doesn’t add up. Didn’t we purchase him a couple years ago for £22? That would mean there’s only a gain of £500000. 20% of £500,000 is £100,000 not £500,000.

Bye Marko, off to Chinese league obscurity – hope he wins lots of meaningless trophies. Been rubbish since the original offer from China, not good enough for the premier league and especially not good enough for the Irons.
