Strong Hammers line up but no Fab or Noble

|

Manuel Pellegrini has named the team which looks very much like the side set to take on Manchester City in the frst Premier League game of the season.

Fabianski has not been risked following a minor injury worry and Mark Noble is out of the squad entirely although it seems unlikely that will be for injury reasons.

He was reported to have a dead leg a few days ago and it’s unlikely that will have kept him out of the squad entirely so a question mark hangs over the captain at this stage.

Aaron Cresswell has again been handed the chance to impress at left back ahead of Arthur Masuaku with Ryan Fredericks taking over at right back from young Ben Johnson who remains in the squad along with Pablo Zabaleta.

The rest of the team has a familiar look with a highly potent looking midfield of Wilshere, Anderson, Fornals and Lanzini lining up behind Seb Haller.

Irons: Roberto, Fredericks, Balbuena, Diop, Cresswell (c), Rice, Wilshere, Felipe Anderson, Fornals, Lanzini, Haller

Subs: Martin, Zabaleta, Johnson, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Diangana, Cullen, Sanchez, Snodgrass, Yarmolenko, Antonio, Chicharito
