Hammers midfielder “has something you can’t coach”

Josh Cullen’s decision to go out on loan at Charlton again has drawn praise from Hammers skipper Mark Noble.

The Hammers young midfielder is now on his second loan spell at the Addicks having helped them to promotion last season and into third place in the Championship this time around.

Now there is talk after his Republic of Ireland debut and man of the match performance during the international break that he may one day become a natural successor to the captain although probably understandably Nobes gives that one a swerve.87

It’s often a difficult decision on whether to accept a loan deal rather than remaining where you are among what you know but Josh is clearly a character of great determination and it could all come very good for him at the Irons n the end.

Nobes clearly admires his attitude and is pleased that at the moment this looks like a great move for Charlton, Josh himself and hopefully the Hammers.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/september/16-september/mark-noble-we-need-keep-our-momentum-aston-villa he said: “I was so pleased, as well, that Josh Cullen,as man-of-the-match for the Republic of Ireland against Bulgaria.

“Josh has something you can’t coach. He has that desire every day to improve, to work hard. He’s a talented boy with a big heart and will enjoy a good career in football.

“It just shows you that, if you’re prepared to back yourself and go out on loan, rather than staying in the comfort zone, you can do it.

“I remember going out on loan, first to Hull for a month which I didn’t enjoy that much – and then to Ipswich, which I loved.

I came back from there after three months and I thought ‘I’m ready to play now’ – and the rest, as they say, is history!”
