Anderson makes it clear this is not the end

|

Felipe Anderson is not ready to accept that his West Ham career is behind him and plans to come back stronger and fitter next term.

The Brazilian is now on his way to Porto after the Hammers agreed to loan him to the Portuguese Primera Ligue outfit for the season.

We understand there is no option for a permanent deal involved in the arrangement despite the Hammers receiving a large loan fee and with Porto ready to pay the 27-year-old’s wages.

He would need to return a very different player to the one who has now departed to find himself back in the manager’s reckoning.

But despite his fall from grace, he is hoping that the move will kick start a new phase in his West Ham United career and certainly doesn’t see his present circumstances as final..

“I have a contract still with West Ham so next season I’ll be here so I need to do my best to be back stronger,” Anderson told talkSPORT (11:12pm, 7 October) He was asked if he was hoping to get back to West Ham next season and be successful, which he responded by saying “yes of course”.

Unless he’s happy to make massive changes to his attitude on the pitch, hopefully he’s wrong, and his West Ham ‘career’ is now over.

  • Vince says:

This is encouraging. Much respect to the man. Snodgrass Mark two?

  • Lyonzee says:

Another tough one, I believe he’ll have one year left on his contract next year, so he either comes back better than ever and we can decide whether to keep him and offer a new contract, or move him on, or he runs down his current contract and we’re left with nothing. Shame, I imagine how could he could be if he had a little bit more about him

    Great attitude imo

Felipe doing a 180-degree turnaround? It would be nice to see, but I’ve probably got more chance of seeing a Unicorn than Felipe showing desire, fight and determination.
I think he has that X-Factor missing, which is what top footballers need to have, in order to play the game at the highest level.

I think he’s got the X Factor. But he’ s missing some of the normal ones between A – W.

  • zahamoore says:

I did notice how he celebrated with Souceck following the goal against Wolves – who knows what really goes on in his head?

Good lad Anderson, good attitude. Could easily have left on a bad note, but he’s not bitter just determined to turn things round hopefully. He had a good ten game spell for us where he was brilliant but lost confidence for some reason. I hope he tears up the Portuguese league and comes back as a man restored to prove the doubters wrong. It’s a long shot but. I blame pellegrini personally. I remember an interview with Anderson where he said pellegrini told him not to try taking on beating And running past his man like he had in the league he came from because premier league defenders were too fast in comparison.

Good luck to the lad. I’d like to see him succeed at WHU but also think the league isn’t quite right for him. He will do well in Portugal. Saying that, DM is the guy to get the best out of players, but I think the move will be a permanent one eventually. Wish him all the luck – as with Cullen too…
