Anderson officially departs West Ham on loan

|

West Ham United have this evening confirmed that Felipe Anderson has joined Portuguese side FC Porto on a season-long loan.

The 29 word short statement published  on WHUFC.com at 10 pm says ‘The Club wishes Felipe all the best for his loan spell’

Porto FC are understood to picking Anderson’s wages though to be excess of £100,000 per week plus a sizable loan fee.

The Hammers broke their transfer record to sign Anderson for £34m from Lazio in 2018, where he scored 34 goals in 177 appearances prior to his move to the London Stadium.

Anderson has only featured briefly for David Moyes’ side so far in the Premier League this season, coming off the bench in the closing stages of their opening two games against Newcastle and Arsenal.

He was also an unused substitute for their impressive victories over Wolves and Leicester City.

The 27-year-old Brazilian has scored 12 times in 72 appearances for West Ham in all competitions and is under contract with the Hammers for another two years.

Good riddance to him. He might find his form over there with a playing style that suits him but he is a fish out of water in British football with as much heart and fight as the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz.
Brazilian footballers always make me nervous because of their emotional unpredictability and it has unfortunately turned out this way for us. Thanks to that chequebook managing clown Pellegrini and those opportunists Lazio.

Anderson has become a real disappointment since that first season. His heart just hasn’t looked in it, either his fitness levels or enthusiasm for playing for current coaching staff, gone.
Unfortunately he hasn’t taken on board that it’s his career he’s destroying by his attitude/actions….

I wish him fortune and happiness in Portugal, hopefully West Ham can them find a buyer and recoup some of the outlay.

Porto have also got a Chelsea player and a Liverpool player on loan.

Disappointment is the word. He could have been a contender but just didn’t seem to suit the Premiership. Maybe he’ll regain his confidence and find some grit and come back to us rejuvenated. Well, maybe …

Good luck to him, hopefully there is an option to buy, he has great ability but not good in a fight or a counterattacking team unfortunately.

Whats a sizeable fee ? £10m or are we talking more like £3m….
