Another youngster joins first team dressing room

Holland out with ankle problem

Nathan Holland is the latest academy product to have been promoted to the first team squad dressing room.

Manuel Pellegrini has the U23 squad training on a pitch alongside the first team in order to keep a keen eye on their development.

But so far only Declan Rice and now Holland have been able to nail a place alongside the first team at “dressing room level.”

It suggests that had he been available against Macclesfield  it would have been him, rather than two goal hero Grady Diangana, who would have been used on the wing.

Holland is currently out of action with an ankle injury and another exciting operator Xande Silva is also sidelined with a hammie.

But that the academy should have two youngsters as first team squad members is an indication of Pellegrini policy.

And with Joe Powell, Conor Coventry both starting to impact the manager is clearly developing some potentially exciting kids who could impact quite soon.
