Poll: What should Declan Rice do?

|

Declan Rice’s contract negotiations have been dominating the headlines for weeks.

The club have offered him an improved deal reported to be worth £18k a week plus £20k for each appearance with other clauses such as win bonuses included.

They also say his contract will be reviewed and a rise given after every 15 games.

His agent Neil Fewings has rejected that and instead is demanding less add ons and more on the basic wage in the region of £30k a week.

So we want to find out what you think and ask these questions in our latest poll:

I don’t understand why we’re haggling. He’s proved himself and is now key to the side. I know it will be galling to give that agent what he wanted but I believe you should pay what he’s worth, regardless of how big an increase that is and £30k is not outrageous. Just make sure it’s a long, tight contract with severe penalties if he gets poached in future.
