Antonio penalty kick question answered

|

Michail Antonio has revealed that an agreement with skipper Mark Noble before last night’s game led to him taking the penalty last night and scoring his tenth goal of the season.

Antonio revealed: “Me and Nobes talked and he asked me what my target was for the season. I said it’s ten goals and he said if we get a penalty in the next two games he’d give it to me because I’d scored so many important goals for us this month and he believed I would score.”

Antonio has seven of his ten goals in July and still has a chance to add more to his incredible tally this Sunday.

The spot-kick gave Antonio his tenth goal of the campaign and continued his rich vein of form – the No30 now has eight strikes to his name since the campaign resumed a month ago.

Maybe Antonio will need to buy Nobes something nice with his goal bonus.

Moyes asked post-match whether Antonio got a special goal bonus for reaching ten goals said “The biggest reward is what Michail has given us is the goals that have kept us in the Premier League. Since he has come back from lockdown he has been in really good form, played very well so if there are any other side issues then I don’t know about it.”
