Arnautovic update

|

arnau2Marko Arnuatovic and Aaron Cresswell will again be missing from the Hammers side that takes on Shrewsbury in the Third Round of the FA Cup this weekend.

Arnautovic will be scanned this afternoon after feeling his hamstring whilst Cresswell is ruled out with a recurrence of an oldback injury.

And with Michail Antonio still recovering the team could be very much the same which faced Spurs last night although the manager may choose to draft Andy Carroll back into the starting line up.

A Hammers insider explained that Arnautovic’s injury is “an odd one.” He said: “It could be something or nothing but we are making sure he has a precautionary scan.”

Diafra Sakho, meanwhile, looks to have played his last game for the Hammers as he continues to complain of a groin injury which is not backed by anything the scan has shown.

Carroll picked up his 5th yellow card against spuds ? Isn’t that a 1 match ban next game ? That’s the F A cup tie ???

  • colejamesuk123 says:

It restarts start of Jan, So he is available.

Although i’m not sure i would risk him.

Thanks for the information, but yes colejamesuk 123 I totally agree with you on Carroll ! Save him for the next few games in the premier league ( he might pick up an injury? Again?? In the
    Cup 😊)

So Arnautovic’s injury ‘Is a strange one.Could be something or could be nothing….’. I think experienced Hammers fans know which way this one will go.

I’m pretty sure Marko is OK, he is just being saved for hud, rightly so in my opinion.

  • master says:

Screw that, play 2 up front ffs. Carroll and hernandez for me. Haksabanovic in behind. Let’s attack please.

Not at all worried by Cresswell absence. He has been awful all season even in the central 3. Rice was superb against Spuds, showed immense composure, headed and tackled well and passed assuredly. All the things lacking in Cresswell. Come on Moysie. Give him an extended run in the side. He will not let you down unlike Cresswell.

Yeah would like to see some of the kids get a run against Shrewsbury, would be great to win but in the long run this season not really that fussed, Haksabanovic, Ben Johnson, Makasi, Martinez, Quina give them a run, Martinez and Hernandez might be worth a look, league one level its worth trying them out, I think we can still get replay’s at this stage can’t we ? A draw and bring them back to the LS would be good. Just don’t risk any injuries and give poor Zaba a weekend off.
