Much has been said but it seems entirely clear that unless the Chinese up their offer by a minimum of another €10 million he will be staying precisely where he is – at the London Stadium.

Whilst Gonzo has been reviewing the story boss Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that he wants to keep the front man and that a deal can only be done if it suits both sides.
Trouble is it’s public knowledge he wants to go to China. And if Arnie stays then you can guarantee there will be a media circus following his every move for the rest of the season. It will be similar to how they analysed Pogbas sulky stance under Mourinho. I don’t think we want that do we? I’m sure Pellegrini won’t want to spend every press conference answering Arnie questions either. I can see why some would want to keep Arnie for the rest of this season but not for me. If his hearts not in it then neither is mine. I would sell Arnie now and try and bring in a striker on loan to replace Arnie. Something like Higuain going to Chelsea. A loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
