Charlie Austin was interviewed on the TalkSport radio SportsBar with Andy Goldstein and Jason Cundy last night and attempted to close the chapter on the David Sullivan interview about his knee ligaments.
He was asked whether it was difficult to keep his head down and carry on despite the headlines in the papers over the transfer window.
“I needed to get my head down and give my all for QPR, because they have respected me and they took me on when I failed a medical at Hull and I feel that’s what they deserve from me and they will get that for the rest of the season from for sure.”
Asked about David Sullivan’s comments on the KUMB podcast Austin replied:
“I am past that, I putting that to the back [of my head] now, when it came up I was quite shocked with what he actually said which was untrue, it was false claims that was said but I now I just try to put that to the back of my head, what happened with Hull and what happened with Mr Sullivan, I just move on with that now and just try to score as many goals as I can and get on the pitch as many times as I can. Look, there is no trouble there, I dealing with the so called problem people think that I have got, I’ll deal with that. I’ve seen my stats over the last five years, I have played 32 plus games over the last five years consistently so for someone who has got no ligaments in their knee that’s not too bad.”
Good luck Charlie, am sure he will get a contract at the end of the season or in January.
