Benrahma breakthrough confirmed

|

The London Evening Standard has confirmed that the way is now clear for Said Benrahma to join West Ham following a breakthrough on the issues that were holding things up at the Brentford  end.

These were understood to be financial and looked for some time to stall a move from south west London to the east end.

However, ClaretandHugh confirmed yesterday these had now been sorted with the Standard running its story 24 hours later.

The ‘paper writes:“West Ham have moved one step closer to landing a £30million deal for Said Benrahma after a breakthrough between the forward and Brentford.

Benrahma’s dream move to the Premier League hit the buffers over the weekend after an issue between the Championship club and his representative put the deal in jeopardy.

However, it is understood that the two parties are set to resolve any issues, allowing the move to West Ham – which has been sealed with a fee of around £25m to be paid up front – to be completed before Friday’s 5pm BST deadline for the domestic transfer window.”

Talks between the irons and Berahma’s representatives have been going on for days but it had been impossible to progress things with the difficulty refusing to go away at the Brentford end.

With that sorted, it is now a case of simply getting it done and  there always remains a chance of things going wrong.

Benrahma’s arrival would mean that the Hammers completed four deals in the window – Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal , the Bees winger and Craig Dawson on loan.
