Bilic: ‘Lanzini suffered same injury as before’

Manuel+Lanzini+West+Ham+United+v+SV+Werder+0Pg6_ic94sIlWest Ham manager Slaven Bilic has told a pre match press conference this morning that Manuel Lanzini has suffered the same injury as last time one week ago during our 2-0 Liverpool win and he is likely to be out for a further two to three weeks.

Bilic told reporters “Lanzini suffered the same injury as before, hopefully it will only be a few weeks. We all want him back as soon as possible, he orchestrated the game against Liverpool. It looks like 2/3 weeks.”

Our senior club source says that is an optimistic estimate and it could be between 3-5 weeks before we see him playing a full game as they will not want to take chances of another re-occurrence of the same injury.

Some Hammers fans have questioned whether Lanzini was rushed back too early but David Gold has previously said that is not Bilic’s way. Just before New years eve Gold tweeted “Slaven will not rush players back, it’s not his way. dg”
