Bobby Madley is too overweight and unfit to referee

|

WeightFormer Premier League and FIFA referee Mark Halsey claims that referee Bobby Madley is having a poor season because he is overweight and unfit.

Writing for the Sun Halsey says  “I think that is down to his lack of fitness — he looks overweight and that is affecting his performances. With his excess body weight — remember he was even substituted in the Stoke versus Leicester game due to a calf injury — he is not getting himself into the best positions for that ultimate viewing angle.”

“Compare him to fellow Fifa referees Martin Atkinson, who is 46, Anthony Taylor and Michael Oliver, there is a difference between the quartet’s movement on the field of play.Madley gave a penalty for Leicester against Manchester City last week when Kyle Walker was adjudged to have fouled Demarai Gray. I felt there was no contact and again his decision was made through poor positioning.”

“That is just one of several major decisions he has got wrong this season. The latest being Bournemouth’s last-minute equaliser against West Ham on Boxing Day. Not only was there an offside but Callum Wilson handled the ball before it went into the net. Madley was detached from play so, in that situation as a referee, you have to trust your assistant.”

All fine to slag them off afterwards but it doesn’t make a jot of difference to us we still lost 2 points because of it, if true the club are going to report Wilson for cheating then that’s good but why the hell don’t the FA just take action they know he cheated and put the ball in with his forearm, just proves that no matter what league you might think football reeks of corruption based on the way our FA show blatant inconsistencies that mostly favour teams at the top of the leagues, I haven’t watched much of it but I understand the German FA have been using television replays and it has proved quick and effective, they should bring it in for multiple offences and make sure that the video officials can overrule the useless ref’s on the pitch and stop games when offences have been missed. Then all you need is for the officials on the pitch to be fit enough to keep up with play and it should also mean weaker ref’s are less influenced on the field, take it one step further and make the video ref’s anonymous so they are immune to the hateful diatribe dished out by disgruntled fans.

Wish I knew were he lived ..as u say what’s the point its gone and its that bald fat *****s fault

  • Lazurus. rises like a salmon says:

Unfit and overweight has nothing to do with his decision making on this occasion ! He cheated ! Its as simple as that ! He’s another wannabe celebrity ref who through his delusions of grandeur it has led to him being rumbled , he’s a bias cheat who needs ki king out of the sport ! Its blatantly obviouse he’s been bias and the powers that be the FA and the referees body will cover it up and do basically nothing or maybe a slap on his wrist ! Because as 32 says its bent from top to bottom and there’s no excuse for VAR not to bring the game in line
But the gut feeling is they will find a way to exploit it for the bias to remain !
Wasn’t it Halsey who exposed the cheating that was and is going on concerning referees but up to date has been pushed under the carpet ? Why am I not surprised at this carry on establishments actions over the years , its what has been accepted as part and parcel of the game ? The time has come to change that culture and start speaking out regardless of reprimands from the league , they need to be held to account and if not ditch them and set up a new league and rules to abide by ! They couldn’t stop it , its a sport , not a national socialist state where you do as you’re told ! Let’s see the outcome of this and be not amazed at the non action in covering up another bent ref ? Ban him ! Kick him out and make a statement !
Some may think that action is Ott but its getting worse and action speak louder than words ,

+1 excarly what I said earlier being in fit & over weight effects his ability to run not make decisons.

And still nothing from FA about retrospective bans. If we get another retro ban this season I’ll be fuming. BC if not going to use them consistently then don’t use them at all.

Madley should be demoted down to Sunday league at best & don’t very want to see him ref a game for us again. Cost us difference of 4 places going into January which makes a bug difference

The only weight problem any of them have comes from the SIZE OF THEIR HEADS!! As said by Laz the problem is they are ‘wannabe celebs’. Now they get paid big money they spend the week in the gym & then sit around deciding how they will make the job a) easier for them b) how to maximise their profiles and their earnings. Being unfit is the very least of the problems. They are all physically fit but professionally are not fit to ref 10 year olds.
