Bookies catch dose of Butland/Hammers madness

|

The lunacy of bookmakers odds when deciding who is going where in football has been exposed to the full this evening.

Apparently you can – according to Ladbrokes – sleep pretty safely in your beds knowing that Jack Butland is likely to become the Hammers new keeper .

Despite Lukasz Fabianski’s brilliant form West Ham have become favourites to sign the Stoke keeper.

Can we really see Butland wanting to scrap with him for the No 1 sweater when there are other clubs at which he could immediately land that job?

There’s certainly no other keeper in the country who would get into the Hammers first team given Fab’s form right now.

Ladbrokes  makes the Stoke keeper  6/4 to land Butland, who was an odds-on shot to join Liverpool at one point during the summer.

Newcastle (3/1), Mark Hughes’ Southampton (5/1), Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth (6/1) and newly-promoted Fulham (also 6/1) are also in the frame to get him apparently but Ladbrokes reckon the Hammers are the likeliest to get him.

Not going to happen – keep money in pocket!
