Bowen and Soucek could be set for chop

|

Both Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek could be dropped this weekend against Wolves.

The pair remain vital parts of the club’s squad and there really is hope that they can each turn their form around, but the start to this season has been dismal.

Soucek did score against Spurs, but his form has been terrible amid the Hammers’ run of form that has seen them slip into the relegation zone.

Bowen, by comparison, has not scored or assisted a goal in the league thus far but he was called up by England boss Gareth Southgate to play Italy and Germany. He was left out of both games and did not play a single minute.

There are options in the squad, now, though, so that the pair can potentially be rested.

Maxwel Cornet plays on the right wing for the Ivory Coast, and he has yet to start for the club in the Premier League, while Flynn Downes is waiting for his first league start.

Boss David Moyes has options, and dropping the pair would send a significant message.

I hope Kehrer plays at right back like he did last night for Germany, Bring Dawon in alongside Zouma. Play Emerson at left back. Play Downes alongside Rice. Play Cornet on the right instead of Bowen. Antonio or Benrahma on the left instead of Fornals and Scamacca up front. Grows some balls Moyes and just go for it – please

Agree totally Tony that’s a good call. Also please use subs according to the game not preset one for one changes. On that basis, aim to play the newbies for the full game unless tactics dictate please.

I like your team selection Tony Hammer 61. It would be even better if David Moyes managed to read it too! And ‘Grow some balls’ really resonates too. We need to start the game in the first half for a change, not play defensively and then try to turn it on with attacking subs in the second when it’s too late. As much as Moyes has done for us since he joined, he is the one who is holding us back now.

Doesn’t matter who you play if the tactics are negative like they have been for a year

Reads like the ideal line up against a struggling Wolves. Should try this NOW and not wait for Liverpool away for example.
