Jarrod Bowen will not be joining Liverpool as their Sadio Mane replacement this summer.
There has been a suggestion that the Reds could swoop for the ex-Hull winger to replace the Senegal international, who is edging towards the Anfield exit door.
But our sources have told us that Liverpool will not be making a move to sign Bowen, as they will instead look to sign an elite name to replace Mane if they decide to bring in a like-for-like alternative; they signed Luis Diaz in January and he could just be given a bigger role.
The Hammers – as we have reported – are instead set to open talks with Jarrod over a new contract this summer after his hugely impressive season that saw him earn an England call-up.
Bowen scored 18 goals and laid on 13 assists in one of the best individual seasons a Hammer has had in recent years.
Were Liverpool to change their approach and suddenly decide to make a move for Bowen, he would cost well in excess of £100m, given that his current deal is set to run until 2025.
There is absolutely no desire at West Ham to allow Bowen to leave.
