West Ham Vice Chairman Karren Brady has taken a dig at Spurs new 60,000 stadium after it was revealed they will use acoustic technology to artificially boost the home crowd’s noise. She says West Ham rejected such technology saying the Hammers fans can make enough noise by themselves without any need for help.
Brady wrote in her Sun newspaper Column: “THREE cheers for Spurs who announce that the crowd in their new stadium will be extra-loud due to acoustic technology involving an aluminium-lined, curved roof and padded seats.
We didn’t consider such additions at the London Stadium. And, anyway, we like to think Hammers fans can make enough noise to raise our own spectacular roof.”
West Ham were accused of piping in crowd noise into the London Stadium at the beginning of the season, the suggestion was strenuously denied by the club who told ClaretandHugh at the time “West Ham United can confirm that they never have, and never will, play additional crowd noise inside the stadium. The support from our fans doesn’t need any amplification, they are always magnificent.”
After investigation it was traced back to Manchester United supporting TV commentator Martin Tyler made the unfounded comment on international coverage of a match. This was then repeated by Spurs fans on social media. As the saying goes, what goes around, comes around.
And how much tax payers money is it costing? Or is it only West Ham that gets called out on such matters?
You will never hear any news in the media about the state aid subsidy granted to Spurs to quieten down on their protests about us Mooro, they are positively virtuous in their hiring of spies, unsettling of players, miniscule bidding etc, Richard Head from CAST should take a look into their affairs… whatever the sound technology they are using to increase the acoustics I have to reluctantly say their Stadium does look good from the artists impressions and a lot of thought appears to have gone into the design, then again they will be paying for it and it was purpose built for football, we on the other hand did get the deal of the century and will be able for the next 99 years to invest all our money into players 😀
Doesn’t surprise me it came from Martin Tyler. That bloke is a rubbish commentator. He is always droning on about anything except what is going on in the game. The fact that the ball is heading for the penalty area doesn’t stop him.
