CandH Exclusive: Hammers nowhere near to signing anybody
West Ham have admitted exclusively to Claret and Hugh the Hammers are nowhere near to signing anybody in the winter window.
The three man recruitment team of manager David Moyes, David Sullivan and Tim Steidten are looking everywhere but as yet have not been able to get into signing details with any club.
As is usually the case in January any arrivals look set to be on a loan basis but there is nothing happening even in that area right now.
As is always the case with hits-hungry media sites at this time of the year numerous names are being mentioned which have so far included the Wolves central defender and captain Max Kilman.
The latest rumour is that Danny Ings will only be allowed to leave the club if we manage to sign a striker given that Mikey Antonio looks set to miss the next six weeks following a training ground injury.
It’s not that the club aren’t trying according to our source but that as ever the winter window is proving incredibly difficult with clubs choosing to hold onto players should they be involved in top or bottom of the table issues.
Our source admits that injuries and Afcon are forcing the club to work hard but that niothing is happening right now.
He said: “We are nowhere near signing anybody, though we are looking everywhere. We are forced into action by injuries to Bowen and Paqueta etc and Kudus away.”
Great daily updates, Hugh. Out of interest, is Steidten involved in getting players out the door as well as in? He’s shown his worth to date on purchases – can he work his magic on selling our fringe players?
Yep, Involved in everything Daze
That’s reassuring, thanks buddy.
