So the question I’m asking of myself is whether my assessment that another 21 points from the season will be enough?
Having taken a look at a tricky run of fixtures – aren’t they always ) I believe that’s what we shall eventually gather from the remaining 11 games.
Should I be right it will take us to 69 points and that would amount to two more than collected by Manchester United and Chelsea last season.
Frankly I have doubts as ever at my own total but given the form we are in we should fear nobody and the 21 I believe is pretty realistic.
Here’s my view of how those remaining games may work out for the mighty Irons:
Manchester United (away) 1 point
Arsenal (home) 3 points
Wolves (away) 1 point
Leicester City (home) 1 point
Newcastle (away) 1 point
Chelsea (home) 3 points – I never fear that lot
Burnley (away) 1 point
Brighton (away) 3 points
Everton (home) 1 point
West Brom (away) 3 points
Saints (home) 3 points
Yes, I know. This is a dangerous old game but I’d be very interested to hear your predictions.
Manchester United (away) – 0 points
Arsenal (home) – 3 point
Wolves (away) – 3 point
Leicester City (home) – 3 point
Newcastle (away) – 3 points
Chelsea (home) – 0 points
Burnley (away) – 3 points
Brighton (away) – 3 points
Everton (home) – 1 point
West Brom (away) – 3 points
Saints (home) – 1 points
Going for a very brave 23 points with a nervy last 3 games to finish on 71 and top 4
Wishful thinking there i think..who knows…let’s hope
Man Utd – 0 points
Arsenal – 1 point
Wolves – 1 point
Leicester – 0 points
Newcastle – 3 points
Chelsea – 0 points
Burnley – 3 points
Brighton – 1 point
Everton – 3 points
West Brom – 3 points
Saints – 1 point
16 for me. To say we’ll go unbeaten for the rest of the season is the stuff dreams are made of! I just can’t shake off the pessimism of being an Iron!
Pep here. We are all supporting you up here. Unfortunately the cartels of Europe and the premiership don’t want newcomers to the Champions League. Just like Sheffield United last year watch decisions start to go against you. As I have said.” Come on you Irons”
Manchester United (away) – 1 point
Arsenal (home) – 1 point
Wolves (away) – 1 point
Leicester City (home) – 1 point
Newcastle (away) – 3 points
Chelsea (home) – 1 point
Burnley (away) – 3 points
Brighton (away) – 3 points
Everton (home) – 1 point
West Brom (away) – 3 points
Saints (home) – 3 points
21 points for me in a slightly different way, Hugh, but like you I’ve got us optimistically remaining unbeaten until the end of the season. Can’t bring myself to forecast a loss for the Irons when we show the type of grit and team spirit that’s made this season so great. Fingers crossed that injuries stay away too. COYI.
Also, if this season brings European football, then fantastic. If not, it’s still been fantastic. Always proud to be a Hammer but even prouder when the boys give their all out on the pitch win, lose or draw,
I can’t see us going undefeated until the end of the season. We always struggle against Arsenal and will probably not get nothing at old Trafford either. Five of the last seven games are very winnable though. So being West Ham we will win the hard games and lose the easier ones! COYI
All up for being positive and we should be with the consistency we’ve had this year. But to think we won’t lose another game this season just seems insane. Maybe it’s just my old West Ham head.
The next 4 games are huge. We can definitely go into games full of confidence. I for one can’t wait for the game against United. COYI
Man U w Arsenal d Wolves w Leicester d Newcastle w Chelsea d Burnley w Brighton d Everton w WBA d Southampton w 21 pts 4th place COYI!!
It’s not about what we can achieve, it’s what other teams around us can achieve. Can we stay above the Spuds? If we get results from Everton, ManUre, Leicester and Chelski, then yes, Europe is our oyster! COYI!!
i think you may be being a little pessimistic Hugh change 1 or 2 drawers for wins ?
