Cherries boss drops half hint on King

|

Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall is refusing to reject the possibility of the Hammers signing Josh King in the January winter.

He was careful to watch his words in an interview after the striker came off the bench as the Cherries beat Wycombe Wanderers earlier in the week.

King has been missing for various reasons for much of the season with many suggesting he’s been carefully nurtured to ensure no injury ahead of a move to the London Stadium.

That is going to depend very largely on whether an instalment deal can be worked out to suit both clubs for a player who will be out of contract in the summer anyway.

There has not been a window in which the Hammers co owners have not brought in a player or two since their time in the game and it would be a surprise – despite covid – if they didn’t do so again.

But in the meantime east ender Tindall has been careful and sparing with his words on the possibility.

Speaking to Bournemouth Echo about King’s return to action, he said:: “We know the quality that Josh has got and there are no two ways about that, so it was great to have him back available – it’s been a long time coming due to different things.”

“Listen, Josh is a very good professional,” he said.

“Whilst he’s at this football club, when called upon he will go and give his best and deliver the best performance he can.”

ClaretandHugh says: The “whilst he is at this football club” line could easily have been omitted. King is unlikely to remain a Championship player in time when talented English players close to the end of their contracts are becoming available relatively cheap and in tricky financial times.

On loan. Nothing more until he proves himself with us.
Tarkowski made Grealish squeamish as they ended 0-0. AV had 27 attempts.
Tarkowski first, should he become available.

Josh King has not been prolific ever for Bournemouth, even with Calum Wilson. He didn’t phase me when they played here. So now he has been either carrying a problem or is just not being selected as first start – I just don’t buy the holding him back for an offer – if he’s that good they don’t want results? It may be just me, but not thrilled about him for us.

Not for me thanks, cannot keep signing people with injury “records” Carroll, Wiltshire,.. unfortunately Antonio’s track record is fast becoming a major “concern” as well… Loan signing perhaps, nothing more!!

“Whilst” you’re running out of anything new to say on the Josh King/West Ham links, your comments are merely Journalistic speculation
