Cressie tells squad what must happen next

|

Aaron Cresswell was again at his best against Wolves despite some holding him responsible for the goal.

In fact a look at the replays shows that he was actually left exposed after Pablo Fornals lost the ball and, in reality, enjoyed a decent afternoon in a disappointing game.

His chances of an international call are of course all but gone despite him being in top form for most of the season – yesterday was no exception.

He has become our most potent threat with pinpoint crosses and searing left wing runs whilst on at least two occasions yesterday and of course in previous games, saving what looked like certain goals.

Two blocks in particular at Molineux were perfect examples as the men in gold looked likely to capitalise earlier than the winning goal.

No doubt he will be in the team again for the match against Rapid Vienna and continue to defy accusations that too many games brings tiredness!

Commenting after the game he said: “We found it really frustrating. I thought we had a good spell for the first 15, 20 minutes, but after that, credit to Wolves – they played some fantastic stuff and we couldn’t really get going.

“We created a couple of chances but we didn’t really have that edge to create more.

“They were rotating a lot, getting their two wide men in, which was causing us problems at times. We were getting caught between whether to go in or whether to stay.

“The manager changed a few things at half-time and altered a few tactics, and, look, it’s frustrating on our part, certainly with the start to the season we’ve had.

“But we can’t get down on one defeat, we’ve got to get going again.”
