David Sullivan: ‘Ogbonna shows ambition’

|

ogbWest Ham Chairman David Sullivan has told the club’s official website that signing Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus on a four year contract shows ambition.

“He is a great signing for the Club and shows the ambition we have getting yet another international player for a sizeable fee.” Sullivan told WHUFC.com.

“I think this strengthens us in a department we have had injuries in season after season and been left short.” he added

Although the fee was widely reported to have been £8.5m the final figure may be over £10m if Jack Sullivan has got his sums right.

The 15 year old son of the Chairman after he tweeted “Ogbonna becomes our 4 summer signing! For another 8 figure sum”

I get squad rotation, competition for places & all that before Sleepin tells me i am one of the clueless brigade, lol, but if people think as a club we have paid out 10m on a player & Slav then doesnt want to make him an integral part of the first team they are barking at the moon.We do not have the luxury of paying out 10m just for that.

He will be first pick it depends who plays alongside him ?
Not sure it will be Reid,
Let’s hope we can afford 2 more buys at that price,we need a Winger and Forward,
Probably bring in loan players now as well as Song and Jenkinson,

I keep saying, we should have tried harder to get Jefferson Montero withValencia but fatty didnt want a winger.

    Adrian, Jenks, Ogbonna, Reid, Cressy
    Song
    Kouyate, Payet
    Zarate
    Austin, Sakho.

A year is a long time in football, this time last year we were linked with the world class Wickam at 8 million and Cattermole to under the leadership of the Dung Beetle, DS knocked the Wickam one on the head and got Sacko for half the price and triple the talent. For those who said Hippo was a shrewd manager you need to stop flapping your gums, a Juventus Centre half, a midfielder from Sampdoria a assist master from Marseille ,not a has been midfielder from Sunderland a overpriced forward at Spuds or reject from Bolton in sight. So to Rolfe, joehamner, Banjo and the rest of the ill informed know ********s ” Be careful what you for” well it’s certainly better than the last 4 years already!!

Slaven from the start set his sights on a central defender as his priority signing to begin with.If people now think he isnt going to be one of the two cental defenders Slav wants to start with they must be joking or smoking some thing good.Slaven will want him in his team, thats why he got him,he saw a weakness. Why can some people not accept our central defenders aint gods gift to defending. You only had to watch some of the poor defending last season to realize they aint top notch.

    More like
    Adrian
    Jenkinson,Ogbonna,Reid,Cresswell
    Obiang,Kouyate
    Payet,Valencia,
    Sakho,Carroll or another
But I can live with that,if Song signs we would have Poyet,Noble Alfitano,Tomkinsand Zarate on the bench
