Dawson mystery deepens

|

By Hughie Southon

David Moyes has rejected the chance to sort out what appears to be more than a rumour over Craig Dawson – a mystery looks to more the case!

The central defender has missed the start of the season with injury but is now being linked with moves to either Wolves or Villa despite that.

The Hammers boss however is unable, he said, to answer questions on that front despite admitting he is in conversation with the player all the time.

When questioned by reporters on whether he could explain on the situation being complicated he shook his head but then declared: “I have spoken to him many times. I speak to him all the time.

I am communicating with him right now. You just need to take it as that. If there is an answer in two days’ time we can give you the reasons behind it.”

And asked if he was actively looking for a replacement he added: “Possibly, yeah. It would be remiss of me if I wasn’t.”

You can’t blame him for wanting to go up north. His wife and kids still live in Manchester, He’s never let it interfere with his job though. You’ve got to assume he’ll be gettingless regular game time with our new signings. .
I hope he stays but wish him all the best if he decides to go and thank him for some great memories.
Great bloke and role model IMHO.

We have already missed his presence in the oppo’s box at corners; it’s not just the goals he scores but the chaos he creates by being a danger man. We don’t have an alternative for that right now and i imagine that’s a reason Moyes would be reluctant to let him go. But if his family still live in Manchester then you can understand his desire to go i guess.

I was, like many, underwhelmed by his signing and although he isn’t the best passer or has anywhere near a turn of pace he makes up for it in shear determination and heart. An old school defender and someone we’re already missing 4 games in. Come on Daws, one more season, please!
