Declan repeats ” I stay” pledge

|

Declan Rice has again made it crystal clear he is going absolutely nowhere this season – Manchester United or anywhere else!

The rumours surrounding his future have been circulating since before he signed a new six year deal and once again he is indicating that his future remains in east London.

That will be another nail in Manchester United’s hopes of signing the brilliant defensive midfielder – runner up to Lukasz Fabianski as last season’s Hammer of the Year.

The club has been insisting for the last couple of weeks he is going nowhere and the player too made it clear last month he is entirely focused on continuing his career at the club.

And despite not needing to, in answer to a question from a Hammers fan on social media, he declared that he would be keeping the 41 shirt for the new campaign.

He explained: ” “Had loads of people asking this.. I WILL be keeping 41 for this season.”

And in his comments last month he said: “I know that there’s speculation but during the season last year I just signed a new five-year contract with West Ham.

“It’s been crazy. For me to have thought that I’d be playing as a regular for West Ham in the Premier League at 19 or 20 is something that sometimes you’ve got to pinch yourself.”
