Declan Rice injury update

|

Declan Rice has an injured foot and is currently doing gym work as he recovers ahead of trying to reach full fitness for the start of the season on September 12.

We understand that the defensive midfielder, whilst working on his  recovery programme,  has been unable to do too much on the training ground.

However, he is now working hard although we understand that he is likely to be missing for the match against Bournemouth in the Betway Cup next weekend.

Issa Diop was also missing from the squad today and we understand he has been struggling with a knock he received in training along with Robert Snodgrass although both are hoping to be ready for next weekend.

Thankfully, the squad is looking in pretty good nick right now, having won three successive pre-season friendlies, but a source told us: “Declan is working hard but is a bit behind the others at the moment.
