Diangana now looks a certain Baggies boy

|

Grady Diangana looks certain to make his proposed loan move to West Brom later today as former boss Slaven Bilic gears up for what most Irons fans will be a promotion winning season for the Baggies.

The midfielder has had a fine pre-season but we understand that he will be on his way to the midlands later today as the final piece of  business by the Irons in this window with a top Hammers insider telling us on the ‘phone “It’s now very likely.”

Both he and Josh Cullen will now be with Championship sides and it has to be a bonus for the Irons that Diang is set to receive regular first team football hopefully  at the top end of the second tier.

However, in both cases, the Irons have inserted a clause which will allow either or both players to be recalled in the window between January 1 -14.

Slaven first inquired about Grady last night (Wed) and with such a wealth of midfield talent available to them we understand Manuel Pellegrini has decided to let the player leave.

It looks a good move all round for both clubs but notably Diangana whose game can only improve with a year’s first team football behind him.

It makes the Championship even more interesting to see how Cullen, Diangana, Browne and our Luton lot get on. I want to see us bring lots of quality young players to our academy. Chelsea have shown how much money there is to be made let alone the potential quality you can bring up in a couple of years. I’d like to have enough numbers in our academy, that we can send 3-4 players to Championship clubs every season.
