Enner Valencia off to France

|

EnnerIt looks like Enner Valencia could be another player missing from the squad against Stoke today as he posted a picture  on social media of himself with his wife  Sharon in Paris outside the Effiel tower yesterday.

The 26-year old, who has a nick-name of ‘Superman’ is tipped to leave West Ham this summer with a Chinese club reportedly willing to pay the Hammers as much as £13.5m for his services.

The Ecuador striker was signed by West Ham in July 2014 on a five-year contract from Mexican club Pachuca for a fee reported to be £12m.

Valencia came to the Hammers attention after scoring three goals at the Fifa World Cup in Brazil – two against Honduras and one against Switzerland – before Ecuador’s group-stage elimination.

Valencia has made just 18 appearances this season scoring four goals and making two assists.

His latest post on social will reinforce speculation that he has played his last game in a West Ham shirt.

UPDATE: Valencia must have hot-footed it back from France quickly as he was named as a substitute at 2pm on Sunday.

In some ways I’m sorry to see him go, but his first touch has been really poor this season.

Talented player but unfortunately wasnt built for the prem physically nor mentally…

I won’t be sad to see him go.Think he has been a real disappointment for the vast majority of his time with us.Only my opinion lol

    • Michael Miller says:

Agreed – a real disappontment, he lacks confidence and never really got established in the team!

  • The Demon says:

I think we all had great hopes for him, but he’s just not up to the job in the Premier League. And the longer he goes without scoring, the less likely he looks to take any of the chances he gets. Can we PX him for Mickey Bat****?

I always held out hope he would get it together but clearly it isn’t going to happen after being here two seasons.Recoup what we can & move him on.There is only so long you can continue flogging a dead horse.

Shame to see him go, thought he might have been a great player for us, but looks like it is better for him and the club for him to move on.

Cannot question his commitment though 😉 , if that photograph was taken yesterday he must have broken his holidays to come back and sit on the bench at Stoke today 🙂

The way he played when he came on he should have gone to France,
Emineke outstanding I don’t think so
Moses give there man a free header when he walks on Outstanding,
Could no one see Mark Noble was walking on quicksand with 15 minutes to go,
We should have been 0-6 up before we threw it away, now we need a goal scorer for sure,
    2 would be better
