It looks like Enner Valencia could be another player missing from the squad against Stoke today as he posted a picture on social media of himself with his wife Sharon in Paris outside the Effiel tower yesterday.
The 26-year old, who has a nick-name of ‘Superman’ is tipped to leave West Ham this summer with a Chinese club reportedly willing to pay the Hammers as much as £13.5m for his services.
The Ecuador striker was signed by West Ham in July 2014 on a five-year contract from Mexican club Pachuca for a fee reported to be £12m.
Valencia came to the Hammers attention after scoring three goals at the Fifa World Cup in Brazil – two against Honduras and one against Switzerland – before Ecuador’s group-stage elimination.
Valencia has made just 18 appearances this season scoring four goals and making two assists.
His latest post on social will reinforce speculation that he has played his last game in a West Ham shirt.
UPDATE: Valencia must have hot-footed it back from France quickly as he was named as a substitute at 2pm on Sunday.
