Europe next term could see Moyes head for No 1 target

By Dave Langton

The Europa League charge from West Ham could lead to a bid for Jesse Lingard at Manchester United!

The attacking midfielder remains very near the top of David Moyes’ wanted list at West Ham.

He tried to bring the attacking midfielder into the club permanently in the summer but ultimately failed to get a deal over the line as he stayed at Old Trafford.

However, the Hammers could be boosted hugely in a financial sense by the club either reaching the Europa League final or winning the competition as a whole.

Lingard is nearing the end of his contract at United and will be a free agent in the summer.

There is reportedly interest from across Europe in signing the attacking midfielder, but the Hammers will be at the front of the queue again in the summer.

They would love to sign him, especially given the struggles of Nikola Vlasic and Said Benrahma, and efforts will be made to again convince Lingard to come.

If the Hammers are in the Champions League, they will undoubtedly have a huge chance.

On a free transfer it is possible but would be more exciting to sign someone younger like young Johnson from Forest. I think Lingard will demand huge salary and for me I just not sure he will have the hunger this time, there is no lock down, his England career is over etc. I know we could not believe that we were signing Dawson but he has become a cult hero and possibly player of the year.

Nunez is by far a better no 1 choice.
As jonham said, get a younger hungrier player
