Fabianski: We don’t fear Liverpool

|

Lukasz Fabianski insists that he and his team-mates have no fear ahead of the clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are coming into the game off the back of two superb results, beating Rangers 7-1 in the Champions League last week and then defeating Manchester City 1-0 at Anfield at the weekend.

It has pointed towards some sort of turnaround after an indifferent start to the season that has seen the Reds lose two and draw four of their nine games thus far.

Still, their performances in the last week have made it appear as though Klopp’s men are getting back to the kind of level that saw them win the Premier League title, and challenge Manchester City consistently.

But Fab insists that the squad’s mindset has not changed at all after their results, and has backed the Irons to go toe-to-toe with Liverpool this evening.

The Hammers beat the Reds 3-2 at the London Stadium last year but have not won at Anfield since 2015.

Fab told the club’s official website“As a player, you never really think there is an ideal or a not ideal time to play an opponent.

“That’s the fixture you have to play, and when you look at their players and where they’ve been in the last few seasons, you always have a huge respect for them as a team and as a football club.

“You know it’s going to be tough playing at Anfield and for us it’s a great fixture, a great challenge. We want to be a very competitive team and when you look at the recent games we’ve played against them we always have been.

“We managed to get some good results as well, so I hope we will perform well and give them a good game.”
