Fit again Wilshere could be on his way out again

|

Jack Wilshere’s first match action in months with the under 23s will have brought a smile to the faces of many insiders but not necessarily for the reason most would imagine.

Let’s make no bones about this. Jack is a a world class player at his best but sadly those days look remain firmly behind him it seems.

And sadly, it’s not hard to be cynical about where he may be headed over the next few months given the worrying injury circumstances which put him right up there in the Andy Carroll category.

Oh that it were different …but then if it were he probably wouldn’t be on West Ham’s books in the first place would he?

So why will some be wearing a smile?

Easily answered. His return to action over the last few games of the season will probably be confined to half an hour here and 60 minutes there.

I may be wrong but I see him getting playing time despite Lanzini, Nasri, Anderson, Snodgrass  and Noble being available because his future it seems to me is out somewhere on loan and he needs to demonstrate he is fit again.

And maybe, just maybe, a club may just be tempted to give him a loan deal which could easily suit the Hammers even should they be paying let’s say 50-60 per cent of his £100k a week wages.

It would be fantastic to see him back at his best and doing it for us. Let’s hope it happens but the bench and a few sub displays, and what that might bring in the loan market, would at least give the Irons another option.

Needs to be sold worst buy since carrol does anyone ever learn

I can’t see the sense of sending Wilshere out on loan. Play him or sell him, but don’t give him £50k/wk to play for someone else.

    • Who’s gonna buy him? A loan without strings maybe but not a purchase

You are right, of course–no one would buy him right now. But…

A fit and healthy Wilshere is a starter in our current squad, in my opinion, though it is hard to remember how good he is given that it’s been so long since we’ve seen him play. So if he’s healthy, we should be playing him.

Then, if he stays healthy for an extended period of time, and plays to his ability, then the option to sell him becomes viable. We paid nothing for him, so there would be no pressure to recoup a massive fee.

An injured Jack Wilshere is no good to anyone for any purpose, though, and I can’t see why a club would pay any portion of his wage unless he had a good run of games first. If he does go out on loan, it would almost certainly be to another Premiership club outside the top six. Then do we want him playing for a rival club? We are hardly in a position where we should be helping anyone else around us.

        • I think I said much the same Far West. I think the issues surrounding him are the prob. And it may be they will want him off the wage bill as a result – or at least sharing the wages with a loan club. If hr proves he’s ok then the terms of a deal can see him come back

Although we haven’t seen it, Wilshere is the best British creative midfielder, if we can get him fit and he stays fit, with Rice behind and Nasri alongside they could power us into Europe next season, like Nasri Wilshere sees the game differently to 99% of other footballers and he has the technical ability to make the passes others can only dream of. I hope we can get that player the world class talent and not the injury ravaged shadow, good luck Jack COYI !!!

Sorry i have to disagree with you no32.
I think wilshere is a busted flush who hasn’t done anything for years.
When i have watched him this season on the few occasions he has played he looks a very similar player to noble but without noble’s commitment.
To be honest there have been times while he has been injured that i forgot that he even played for us.!
I would love to see jack wilshere injury free and recapturing his old arsenal form but honestly i cannot see that happening.
