Merse outburst on Pelle – keep taking the tablets mate

|

Paul Merson seems to have something of a West Ham obsession  going on right now and it’s tricky working out exactly why!

At a time when fellow Londoners Fulham have been relegated and there’s a bunch of teams in far worse conditions than us, the Sky pundit seems fixated on a Hammers team that until the Everton match was cruising along reasonably satisfactorily.

Ok, the Huddersfield game wasn’t too clever but despite the opposition hardly being the best the team we showed real spirit to gain a win. Meanwhile, poor they we were,  The Toffees form appears to have picked up a fair bit given their victory over Arsenal this afternoon.

Yes, it been an up and down ride and the Hammers have squad have some questions to answer about, notably Marko Arnautovic, whose January dramatics did nothing to help team spirit or stability.

But for Merson to be predicting that we have reached a point where the manager could be sacked in both senseless in itself and demonstrates how little knowledge he has of the way this club is run and by whom.

Does he honestly believe the board are about to reach into their coffers and pay out of £20 million compensation to the manager.

Merson told Soccer Saturday“They look like they have got their flip flops on,”  “Let’s remember, not even two weeks ago, they were 3-1 down against Huddersfield. No disrespect to Huddersfield, they can’t score three goals in so many games let alone in 60 odd minutes.

“You worry for the manager here. I’d be surprised if they keep on going the way they are going, there would be a change there and he’s done nothing wrong really.

Keep taking the tablets Merse!

It’s a shame that images won’t display in replies, because i think this would be appropriate…

I think if we stick with MP as Man U stuck with Ferguson in time we will have not only a first team of superstars but a conveyor belt of young talent that can take us forward. All the players including those he inherited have been better than they were last season, the football when the players put the effort in, is much better to watch than under any manager since Lyall, his signings have apart from Perez been good, a few have been injured early so that comes with a caveat. We need to sweep the decks clean in the summer and replenish with higher quality technical players that have pace, keep up the good work MP COYI !!!

It’s funny because earlier in the season Merson was bigging us up saying how good we were. How things were on the up under pellegrini. He even thought we were dark horses to win the FA cup. Maybe he even had a little punt on us. I imagine his professional pundit pride must have been damaged when he realised West Ham are just as bad as we’ve always been.
