Fletcher: The finances revealed!

|

Fletcher_2222093aDarren Fletcher will cost the Irons north of £50k a week in personal terms if a deal is competed to take him to the club.

And that means – should he sign a three year deal – the Irons will be paying a minimum of £7.2 million plus any signing on fees.

However, the deal is likely to cost closer to £10 million if he get closer to the £60k a week which ClaretandHugh understand he is earning currently.

We have also received unconfirmed reports the Hammers are trying to set up a six month deal initially that would allow them to make an assessment of the player’s fitness.

Fletcher though is believed to want a straightforward two year deal with a year’s option or a three year contract.

The Hammers are ready to offer Fletcher a medical ahead of personal negotiations but as yet he still hasn’t responded to the club’s offers and  Sam Allardyce has been quoted as saying that he doesn’t know one way or the other which way the deal will ultimately bounce.

A source told ClaretandHugh exclusively: ” I understand it the personal terms are in advance of £50k a week and probably closer to £60k.

At the moment the player is hesitant about what the club may be ready to do ahead of course of any medical…and it would be a big one.”

Can someone tell me why we did not give Winston Reid his money 2 or 3 months ago before he thought a bout leaving, now we have to find a good centre back at possible a ridiculous inflated price because every team knows we have to replace Reid and yet we want to give a pass his use by date midfielder that we do not need 50 to 60k,does our Karen not keep her hand on pulse of these deals,to me he is worth 25k tops if we needed him,2 DAVIDS NO NO NO,I will be quite happy if you do not spend a penny give the youngsters some playing time,we brought Poyet here for the furture what are we going to wait until 28 then sell him on like Martin Peters so other teams can get another 6 good years out of him,do we not learn our lesson and I thought we were buying youngsters not the like of fletcher.

Think I can answer you about Reid mate. West Ham offered Reid his £60 grand a week months ago but so far he has refused to sign the deal!

As for fletcher, imo if he is fit the deal represents a bloody bargain! When he was injured in the semi’s of champs league it settled their fate. As I believe barca wouldn’t have been allowed to pass the manc’s go death in the final.

The problem is though the illness and the fact that he was out for so long and hasn’t had the opportunity to prove his fitness since his return.

It is a big gamble we would be taking on signing him and we are right to push for a loan deal till the end of the season so the player can prove his worth.
I believe even with this stipulation we are in prime position as I can’t see the baggies having the money go pay fletcher £60 grand a week?!

Why spend 50-60k pw on a player we dont need and who is worth nothing when we could spend a biy more on Reid, a player we do need, who will also have a significant asset value (and in doing so prevent that asset going for nowt).
Also the impact on wage bill ahead of a more sensible and planned transfer strategy over the Summer?. As this summer has shown yopu dont need to pay big wages (but can reserve the ability to do so if they come good linked to performance i.e sakho

This makes no sense on any level so would someone just kill it please!?
