Flop Fernandes feel heat after Juve disaster

|

West Ham’s on-loan midfielder Edmilson Fernandes has been roundly condemned in the Italian media after an apparently awful performance against Juventus.

Fiorentina were beaten 0-3 and Fernandes’ display was described by Calciomercato.com as:  “Mistakes and errors, he also gives a penalty to Juventus, not ready for certain situations.”

Fiorentina  won their last match on September 30 against Atalanta and it seems Fernandes was widely expected to give a top performance but that he gave “a very disordered and confused match.”

It was an opinion shared by other media, one of which declared “Disordered and author of useless pressing. He closes the match with the action that causes the penalty”.

“Definitely, not a day to remember for a great talent that has not found yet his best fitness condition.”

Claret and Hugh says: Just 48 hours after we had been reporting that the Hammers midfielder had become a Fiorentina regular he gives a performance like this. So sorry Edi if we put a curse on you.  Things can only get better for the Switzerland international surely and the Irons board will certainly hope so because there is an option for the Italian outfit to buy him at the end of the season. Matches hardly get worse than this if the reports are to be believed and the only way is surely up. He needs to impress over the rest of the Serie A programme if he is going to find this an option for a permanent move. He is clearly not part of the manager’s plans at West Ham who made sure he took a very good look at everybody in pre-season so the boy’s future is now on the line. He obviously needs some very big performances.

He is showing them what he showed us a lack of application in certain games. There is clearly something not right in his approach to games, perhaps he is one of these people who if something goes wrong early in a game then he is not able to perform ?
