Former Hammers ‘target’ agrees Watford deal

|

Thankfully we can now heave a final sigh of relief over the one who got away with Watford announcing that Josh King has signed for the club.

The former Bournemouth front man has agreed a two years deal with the Hornets plus  an additional 12 month option after leaving Everton where he served a January loan deal which saw him fail to score a single goal over the remainder of the campaign .

The former Bournemouth forward was of course linked with the Hammers in a big way back in the winter before Said Benrahma arrived on loan in a deal which was made permanent later.

At one point it was believed the reason was King’s alleged high wage demands although for a long while it seemed a close call between him and the former Brentford player.

Newly promoted Watford, however, have had no such doubts about the Norweigian international and he became the club’s third signing on a busy day which also saw them sign Stoke midfielder Peter Etebo on a season-long loan with an option to buy and former Rangers forward Dapo Mebude.
