Former Pellegrini favourite on way to London

|

A worrying report has emerged in the national media this afternoon that Yaya Toure is on his way to London and looking for a Premier League club.

The former Manchester City midfielder was a big favourite of Manuel Pellegrini’s during his time at the Etihad and has been regularly linked with a move for the player.

But the boss ruled that out back in the summer although the news that the 35 year old is on his way to London will cause new speculation that the Hammers would become the natural choice for him and maybe the club.

The Hammers already have Samir Nasri on trial at Rush Green and it is conceivable that as a free signing on a pay as you play deal might be an attractive option.

We definitely hope not although, with the club having run out of money for winter signings, it is a possibility despite the player’s recent experiences with Olympiakos where he contract was terminated by mutual consent after justĀ five appearances for the Greek giaints.

He was substituted in each of his three starts for the club, coming off at half-time of a shock defeat to OFI Crete.

Don’t be tempted West Ham.
