Former West Ham manager set for Turkey chance

Manuel Pellegrini has been out of work since getting the boot from West Ham in December. The Chilean was sacked by the board after a run of nine losses in 12 games and the club swiftly replaced him with former boss David Moyes.

His agent has been discussing his potential next move with Turkish paper Hurriyet.

Pellegrini has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce in recent weeks and now his agent, Jesus Martinez, has confirmed Pellegrini thinks highly of Fenerbahce and would be interested in taking over the Turkish side.

Fenerbahce are currently without a manager after sacking Ersun Yanal in March. Before the suspension of football due to the global health crisis, Fener were seventh in the Turkish Super Lig. Last season, after flirting with a relegation battle, they finished sixth.

The former West Ham man is emerging as the number one candidate to take over once football has returned and he will hope to have a more positive impact in Istanbul then he did with the Hammers to help restore his reputation in the football industry hew enjoyed at Manchester City and Malaga.
