Get tough Bilic turns screws

|

Slaven-Bilic (1)Slaven Bilic has called non international players in for training every day since last weekend.

The manager is reported to have viewed with concern data showing they are below their normal levels, and put on hard sessions from Monday to Friday with a practice game arranged against the club’s under-23s.

He has been boosted by the news that Aaron Cresswell – who played for 50 minutes – in a training game is ready to return against Crystal Palace after recovering from damaged knee ligaments.

However, the ‘get tough’ approach to training is aimed at gauging and improve fitness levels at a tim when most players view international breaks as a time to relax!.

Dmitri Payet and England’s Michail Antonio, have been away, but Bilic has had a group to work with which has included Mark Noble, Manuel Lanzini, former Liverpool and Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa and Pedro Obiang.

Bilic gets tough with the players – shock!!

Not before time, the players have looked lethargic and unfit and Bilic himself seems to have taken his eye off the ball and let things drift so far this Season.

The disappointing thing is that we’ve only got a couple of players away on International duty, it only emphasises the lack of quality!

  • RickHammer says:

Well it’s a bit difficult for some of them to play internationals if they are injured or their team aint got a match
Kouyate,Feghouli,Ayew, Nordveit, possibly Sakho when fit would have all been called up if their countries actually had matches or they were available.
Payet,Reid,Collins,Antonio,Samuelsen were all on international duty, they are the ones i know off the top of my head.
Dont be so gloomy on a sunday morning Michael lool

I was watching the Sunday Supplement whilst reading this forum, and that always depresses me going on about England and Wayne Rooney – it’s bad enough watching England play and then to go on about it endlessly…..

Kouyate played for Senegal yesterday in a world cup qualifier. He went off after 83 minutes.I hope it was just a nornal swap & not through injury.

  • Stan The Man says:

Randolph is playing for the Rep of Ireland as well.

  • jimbo says:

Someone told me that Tore was away too. That can’t be right, can it?

    • Alfie says:

I dont think so jimbo.I had a look to see if he was playing for Turkey the other night. He wasnt in the team or on the bench.
I was going to mention Enner being away on international duty as well. But seems to have spent more time playing hide & seek with coppers 🙂

They should be doing hard sessions every day except their rest day all season then ball work in their second session each day, get them fit we are 15th in the table when it comes to ground covered I think, which helps explain why we are in the bottom 3
